Why Do I Art?

What fuels my passion...

Why do I create art? Because that is what the Goddess led me to, gardening and art back in 2012. It drastically and beautifully changed my life. My journey started small, a simple class from willowing.org, a painting of a woman in a Gustav Klimt style.

From there I found various artists online and started taking more classes. I then landed on a course called Painting the Goddess Within (I had started to teach classes on the Goddesses since my awakening and this sounded like a perfect opportunity for me to combine both of my new passions.) I can go into more detail in a later post about my journey.

Painting gives me peace for my soul, a creative outlet for my yearning to create something beautiful and meaningful. I can get lost for hours in the process (when life is simple and doesn't include a 4 1/2 month old puppy).

The process of creating art allows me to bring ceremony and ritual into the process, it infuses the artwork with the energies I build and pass through into my creations. Creating ceremonies and rituals makes me happy.

During the following years I began teaching various holistic healing modalities such as Shamanism, Reiki, Wicca, Color and Sound healing and I naturally started to use these modalities with my paintings. Thus was born my version of medicine paintings.

I heard several times from customers, or people simply viewing some of my pieces, that they could feel the calming energies within it, that they felt they couldn't or rather never wanted to put it down once they received and held it. I was doing shamanic journeys for commission pieces to find spirit guides and animal totems that wanted to come through in the art work.

Through Intentional Creativity with Curate Shiloh Sophia I learned about "prayer dots" and I began on my own developing "light language" - marks that I didn't have that term for yet, but was well known in the world already. I also started to infuse the canvases with Reiki healing energy, and energies such as Divine Feminine or an animal essense - tuning into their energy to then channel to the art (the canvas and paint). I have been known to drum on a canvas with my biggest paint brush and play it like a drum, rhythmically beating as in a shamanic journey.

I art because it allows me to be who I am - a healer, an artist/creatix, a lover of nature and a child of God.
